For the 3rd and 4th regeneration furnaces at Desotec in Roeselare, M.I.P. supplied a 30-metre-high chimney with a diameter of 1.2 metres.
The chimney is entirely self-supporting, anchored with cast-in anchors, without any tension cables.
Due to the high humidity of the neutralised gases (up to 80°C), the client opted for a composite material (vinyl ester resins).
