Through our joint venture, Verwater Composites, we sold to GTS in Ghent four 22-metre-high tanks with a capacity of 3,000 m3 and a diameter of 14 metres.

GTS opted for composite as the material due to its favourable price-quality ratio and superior insulating properties compared to steel and stainless steel.

The tanks are designed for the storage of various oil products. By fitting the tanks with high-quality insulation (instead of glass wool or rock wool) in combination with a heating coil, the products remain at the desired temperature inside the tank. The tanks will be operational at the customer’s site by the end of this year.

More and more customers in the petrochemical industry are discovering the benefits of composite.
