Expansion at the Moerdijk Tank Terminal is in full swing

TTM further expands its sustainable storage capacity

Following the successful completion of five storage tanks in 2024, representing a total capacity of over 14,000 m³, TTM is currently working on the next phase of the terminal’s expansion. In this new phase, two additional tanks, each with a capacity of 750 m³, will be added, enabling the company to further optimise its storage and handling capabilities for bulk goods

Sustainability as a driving force

What makes this expansion special is its focus on sustainable technology. TTM is strongly committed to energy efficiency and environmentally friendly processes. For example, all storage tanks are heated entirely using 100% renewable energy, which makes a significant contribution to reducing the ecological footprint.

Thanks to the use of modern technology and advanced equipment, bulk goods are processed in an energy-efficient manner. Furthermore, the composite materials used ensure lower CO₂ emissions during the production of the tanks and improve performance during use. For example, the composite tanks offer up to 40% better insulation values, which significantly reduces the need for heating.

Innovative solutions in practice

TTM’s sustainable approach goes beyond simply the choice of materials. Among other things, the terminal utilises:

• Low-temperature unloading, enabling goods to be unloaded in an energy-efficient manner.
• Biofuels, such as bio-heating oils, for environmentally friendly energy consumption.

With these innovative solutions, TTM reaffirms its commitment to sustainable growth and efficient, forward-looking service provision.
