Continuous leak monitoring via double-walled tanks

Did you know that composite (glass-fibre-reinforced plastic) tanks are also ideal for storing products such as hydrochloric acid, citric acid, caustic soda, etc.?
This is perfectly feasible in a single-walled tank; however, we can also supply double-walled composite tanks. This ensures that any accidental leakage of the cargo is detected at an early stage through continuous leak monitoring.
M.I.P. uses Parabeam® 3D glass fabric for this cavity. This is a sandwich element approximately 4.5 mm thick that can be pressurised or depressurised.
The Parabeam® 3D glass fabric is installed between the chemical barrier layer and the structural laminate. In this way, the chemical barrier layer is continuously monitored, thereby preventing chemical degradation of the structural laminate. This enables M.I.P. to operate cost-effectively. This is because a high-quality, cost-effective resin can be used for the structural laminate, whilst a more expensive, durable layer is used for the chemical barrier layer (which comes into contact with the product).
The type of resin required for this is determined by a resin recommendation from our suppliers and partners Polynt and Ineos.
