Superior insulation with GRP

The thermal conductivity coefficient of glass fiber reinforced composite is considerably lower than that of steel (factor 450) and stainless steel (factor 300). As a result, composite naturally offers much better insulating properties than both steel and stainless steel.

35% higher insulation value

For insulating storage tanks, M.I.P. use of hard PUR foam or PET foam boards. With the same thickness, these plates provide a 35% higher insulation value. The insulation boards are covered with a 5-6 mm thick layer of glass fiber reinforced composite. This layer is applied by machine in the factory and finished with a UV and weather-resistant top coat. This creates a liquid-tight exterior that prevents water ingress and maintains the insulation value.

Never suffer from corrosion again

In addition, glass fiber reinforced composite offers an additional advantage: never suffer from corrosion under insulation again. This not only makes our solution more efficient, but also more sustainable and maintenance-friendly.
