Did you know that we can also offer our composite silos and tanks insulated?

Composite (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) in itself already has better thermal properties than steel or stainless steel. M.I.P. uses a 50mm hard-pressed insulation board that has a much higher Rc value (33%) than traditional glass and rock wool in the same thickness with steel or stainless steel.

Discover all the benefits below.

Further advantages of the insulation used are:

  • It has a 95% (or more) closed cell content, which makes it non-suffering and highly resistant to moisture ingress. This is particularly valuable in humid conditions where moisture build-up can compromise the performance of lesser insulating materials. Because the panels are already installed against the wall in the factory and protected by a 5mm composite “jacket”, a fully moisture-resistant high insulation layer is created. Rusting (composite is corrosion resistant) of the tank or silo behind the insulation is therefore not an issue.
  • The insulation material is resistant to a wide range of oils, solvents and chemicals. Its compatibility with most solvent-based coatings & adhesives and polyester & epoxy resin based coatings, allows it to maintain its physical integrity when in contact with such materials.
  • It is manufactured to the highest quality standards under a quality control system approved to EN ISO 9001:2000
  • The insulation is resistant to mold growth, pests cannot reach it and is non-fibrous, odorless and non-polluting.
  • It is a thermosetting material. When exposed to fire, its outer surface forms a strong carbonaceous layer that retards further spread and penetration of the flame. Unlike thermoplastic materials, the material does not melt or produce flaming droplets when exposed to fire.
